But this doesn't matter now... Cos now, we are just satisfied enough if we're given good mooncakes and share a few good laughs with close ones. I remember when I was younger, I never liked mooncakes cos they didn't taste good AT ALL. Till I grew older and realised that that was because my mom always bought cheap ones that inevitably tasted hmmm..... But that was cos she too didn't know of good ones...
So for some reason this year, although still unappealed by them, i decided to just give it a few tries again. After trying a couple from popular brands like Goodwood, Mei Xian, Bakerzin, etc, I finally found something that I dare say typical Singaporean foodies would love! And i'll be backed up by my family - who by the way, sneakily gobbled up the rest of my mooncakes the next day even though they knew I was saving it to savor it another day. *Sob Sob* But at least it brought some form of happiness. Which is what this season is all about!
So fast forward to the point, why I and You should, would, most possibly, will love it is cos its:
- Durian Favoured (sooo many range )
- Mooncake (obviously)
- Snow skin (yummy... +++ points )
- Multi- flavoured (you can mix and match if you want )
- Small and not scarily huge like the traditional ones (which always ends up with you either sharing/throwing is away)
Now some of you are probably thinking whats so good about it. Well, you really should go to Taka's mooncake event to do some taste testing and you'd be sold at first lick! Not Kidding!
My family and I love the "Mao Shan Wang" flavour so I'd highly recommend that. But of cos, everything has a down side to it. And that is the price... @ $54++ for 8 tiny pieces. I guess to many it may be the standard price. But to a new mooncake lover, its wayyyyyyyy overpriced!!! But in any case, this is what it looks like and if you're interested in getting it, i'll share you the link below.
PS: This is a really good way to surprise or impress your partner's family
