Been searching for a juicer for awhile that can do a good job of separating pulp and juice, and was prepared to pay a hefty sum for it. Until I bumped into this cute little green toy by chance. A manual juicer by HOKEY which I paid only $39.90 for. How awesome is that?!
I'm sure a lot of you out there will give a face after reading the word manual. But seriously, this juicer can juice out a medium sized green lime with its tough skin on! And still give a good amount of juice, leaving the skin totally dried out. But of course, that was just to try out how much rubbish it can take. If you were to throw in a cut fruit, but with its tough skin on, then you'll need quite abit of strength to juice it out. But you do get the goodness of the skin's oil which contains a good bit of Vitamin C too.
Every part of this little green toy is totally detachable and washable. It doesn't have sharp blades or wire attached to it which makes it really easy to clean and remove after use. Best of all, it doesn't cut you when you're trying to piece or remove the parts unlike the normal expensive juicers. Which don't get me wrong, I'd still get one sooner or later if I eye any that can do an awesome job.
So this is how the whole mechanism works. Its pretty self-explanatory and easy to work.
But like all other juicers, it'll do you and the machine some good if you pre-cut the fruits or veges before juicing it.
What I have in there are some strawberries, green Thai limes, grapes and some baby bitterguards. I usually like to mix raw veges and fruits together for detoxification. And these limes are what I was talking about. I literally left the skin on to see if it could grind the whole thing out. And sure enough it did.
And so this is how the whole thing works. Just simply put the fruit in and press it down with a stick. It doesn't splatter all over if you were wondering and is extremely silent. And all you have to do is to turn the handle on the left.
A couple of other good things about this is that apart from how all parts are easily detachable, if you lose any spare parts, just call the company and they do sell it separately to you. In addition, the juice comes with 2 outlets that seperates the juice from the pulp. And finally but most interestingly is that it has a suction pad under the whole juicer. So you can be sure that while you're working it hard, it will remain sturdily on the spot.
The pulp of the strawberry which can be used as mask if you like. Or just mixed with any other ice cream if in the mood.
So TADA!!! This is just how pure strawberry juice looks like in about 5 min. Enjoy~~
luv,
Millie
