Legendary Hong Kong - Singapore

8.10.2014

This is a little bit of a late post but here's an introduction to Singapore's very own authentic Hong Kong's 茶餐廳 (char chan teng). Located in the far west at Jurong Point, the restaurant is a 4 shop huge eatery. Thats really something! And a couple weeks ago, I was invited to their private event just before their official grand opening, together with a few other food bloggers and personal friends of the owners to share their food specially prepared by 8 of their highly skilled Hong Kong Master Chefs. The whole layout and decor of the restaurant really makes you feel like you've stepped into one of Hong Kong's typical 茶餐廳. Just look at how crowded it quickly became and how many people that can actually fill the whole place up.

With the well-known Johor Khaki and the Chua family enjoying themselves, here are their most well-known dishes. The roasted duck flown all the way from Ireland are grown in a farm that have their feathers specially hand plucked to preserve their tenderness and prevent bruises. With the same breed of ducks specifically used in many Michelin star restaurants around the world like in China and London, this premium duck is now here in Singapore!

Considering how crowded the whole restaurant was since the place was overflowing with guests, the service staff were excellent with the efficiency and the food was not too bad. I can only imagine how much better it would be on any other day with a lesser crowd and can't wait to go back again with my family the next time.

Enjoying the feast with Little Miss Bento. Was so glad to have met her that day. It was just so packed that everyone was taking up all the food so quickly. Had it not been for her, I may not have had a place to sit or tried all the dishes she thought were the best!

Luv,
MILLIE
