Masterchef

5.01.2011

After watching episodes of Masterchef, I feel so inspired to take up the art of culinary. Just watching them makes me wonder how amature cooks can whip up dishes of standards like that of restaurants. Putting a plenty of chefs to shame in addition.

What is even more amazing is watching the junior masterchef actually puts many girls in this day and age, to shame. Knowing how few Singaporean girls who pride themselve with as little knowledge on their culinary skills, these children as young as 9 (who happened to be the 2nd runner up in the 1st season) , can whip up amazing dishes, face pressure tests, name ingredients just by tasting them in a dish, and imitate a dish with the first hour of setting their eyes upon them. I am feeling nothing but shame for my lack of skills in this aspect in comparison.

But, this has inspired me to learn to cook good food (hopefully) for my family and friends. Hope my friends out there who eventually become guinea pigs will support me. Esp for Liann who promised even though i may accidentally put you through 1 or 2 food poisoning process. =X

Just look at the amazing food the young ones can put together. Looks so yummilicious. And definitely restaurant standards. :)

So, feeling as inspired to put something together as how i am feeling right now, I found something pretty to bake. Its called Shortbread Button. Unfortunately they didn't disclose the preperation methods to make this one. But i'll like to try making this just with what they have provided. If anyone would like to try this out, here are the information that i have managed to gather.

Preperation Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 30 min
Serves: 22 makes

Ingredients:
250g butter softened,
1/2 cup caster sugar,
2 1/4 cups plain flour

Icing:

Hope you girls ( and maybe some guys ) will have fun doing it! Tata!!!

XOXO
